How To Get The Tom Holland Haircut From Spiderman

    by Zheelana Cottam

The name Tom Holland has become a household staple for people everywhere after he landed the starring role of Peter Parker in Marvel's Spider Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider Man: Far from Home (2019) and Spider Man: No Way Home (2021). It’s safe to say Holland has come a long way from the stages of the West End.

It’s hard not to fall in love with this Londoner. He's funny and charming, has a great British accent, sings and dances, is currently dating his co-star - the lovely Zendaya -, loves his mum with all his heart, and has a great head of hair! Wow, this funky fella has it all. It’s hardly surprising when the young actor lives by the philosophy:

“The harder you try, the better the impression you set on the people around you.” - Tom Holland

And what an impression he makes. So, we, at NO GUNK , have put together a style guide of two of the best Tom Holland haircuts for you to recreate. You won’t even be able to tell the difference between you.

To recreate Tom Holland’s Peter Parker haircut, head to your barber and ask for a layered cut with side parting. You want to cut and leave a generous amount of length in the top so that the hair reaches the bridge of your nose when swept forward, somewhere between 6 to 8 inches.  Then cut some layers into the top and upper sides – this will create a flowing effect when the hair is pushed back. For the back and lower sides, you want to feather the hair and taper it from around 1 ½ to 2 inches with scissors. Then go back over the hair and blend together so everything looks neat.

Tip: When you run your fingers through your hair you should see the different layers more prominently on the sides.

    How to Style:

    • Start on clean and towel dried hair. You want your hair to be damp, not dripping. Then you want to apply a small amount of hair wax as a pre-styler to help you get that slight shine to your hair. We recommend our NO GUNK Styling Funk. Scoop up some products and warm it well between your fingers then apply it throughout your hair from root to tip.
    • Now grab your hairdryer and brush. First create your side parting then using the dryer on a medium heat blow dry the hair up and to the side. Brush the hair in the same direction you are drying. This will give your hair that fluffy look (see image below for reference).
    • Next you will need to apply our Matte Lava Clay. This will help the hair keep in place and stop it from looking too bulky. Use the product in the same way you did the Styling Funk
    • Once finished, rake your fingers through your hair to create that lined effect that Tom Holland always has going on in the Marvel movies, and you’re done!

Tom Holland's haircut often screams 90s heart throb. From the statement side parting to the wavy hair texture to the short comb over. It’s completely understandable why his co-star Zendaya fell head over feet for him when the actor rocks the dapper haircut 24/7.

To recreate this dreamy go-to Tom Holland haircut head to your barber and ask him for a medium length scissor cut with tapered back and sides. For the top you want to put in various layers soft scissor cut layers between 4 – 6 inches. For the back and sides, you want to taper them until they blend with the top hair Taper also using the soft scissor cut method. There should be no scalp exposure. Tom Holland does not follow the modern trends and you will find no undercuts here. Finally beat up the hair around the ears so the hair looks nice and tidy.

    How to Style:

    • Holland always seems to go for a shinier wet look when it comes to his hair. So, to create that effect you will need to rub a pea-sized amount of our Styling Funk through towel dried hair. Apply in the back first and move the product towards the front so your hair doesn’t look too weighted.
    • Using a comb, sweep the damp hair up, then back and over to the side. It is best to let the hair dry naturally so you aren’t putting unneeded volume into the hair or creating any fluffy texture. You want this hairstyle to be slick and textured.
    • To finish the look, use a small amount of the Matte Lava Clay and apply it to the front of the hair to keep that hairstyle in place.

Enjoy looking like a Superhero with your new Tom Holland haircut.
